Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Identify and prioritize local events, sponsorships, and partnership opportunities worth Sylvan's time and investment — and pass on the ones that aren't a fit
  • Represent Sylvan at farmers markets, school events, community fairs, and other local gatherings — set up, table, and engage with families directly
  • Build and maintain relationships with area school districts, individual schools, PTAs/PTOs, and other local organizations
  • Develop connections with complementary local businesses for cross-promotion and referral opportunities
  • Act as a visible, approachable brand ambassador who reflects Sylvan's values in every interaction
  • Track community engagement activity and outcomes, reporting regularly to the owner
  • Collaborate with Center Directors to ensure outreach efforts support real enrollment needs and center goals
  • Help plan and execute grand opening and seasonal marketing events

Requirements

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in community outreach, event marketing, business development, or a similar field — no degree required
  • Strong, existing knowledge of Round Rock and surrounding areas, including Cedar Park, Georgetown, and Hutto
  • Comfortable and energized by face-to-face engagement — tabling, networking, and public-facing events are a regular part of this role
  • Self-starter who can independently judge which opportunities are worth pursuing
  • Reliable transportation and flexibility to work some evenings and weekends around events
  • Excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for education and community
  • Community engagement: 1 year (Required)
  • driver's license (Required)

Preferred

  • Existing relationships with local schools, districts, or community organizations are a strong plus
