Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Manage, update, and create strategic content for public-facing district and school websites
  • Monitor analytics and engagement for strategic content on public-facing district and school websites
  • Conduct assigned research in engagement and reach of communication strategy and tactics
  • Oversee ADA compliance in all content for public-facing district and school websites and digital platforms to ensure accessibility
  • Support school staff in updating public-facing website content, analytics, and accessibility
  • Design flyers, postcards, annual reports and other print and digital marketing materials to be shared with external stakeholders, including community members who are not otherwise affiliated with the district
  • Assist in creating engaging and strategic public-facing graphics, videos, and photo content for school social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, etc.)
  • Assist in drafting public-facing captions, social media, and other digital copy aligned with Wauwatosa School District’s tone and messaging, as well as ADA requirements
  • Collaborate in brainstorming and developing public-facing marketing content and strategic initiatives
  • Assist in drafting/proofreading print and digital copy, ensuring accuracy and that content is aligned with Wauwatosa School District’s tone and messaging

Requirements

  • Associate/bachelor's degree or higher in communications, marketing, website management, graphic design, or journalism
  • Experience in web content management and accessibility, graphic design, digital marketing, social media, and/or communications
  • Experience in strategic use of Google Analytics, social media analytics, and engagement monitoring
  • Basic knowledge of design tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite apps, Google apps)
  • Basic knowledge of newsletter tools and platforms (Constant Contact, Smore)
  • Familiarity with major social media platforms and analytics tools
  • Event planning experience
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work independently
  • Positive attitude and willingness to take creative direction

Preferred

  • Experience with video editing tools (Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, iMovie, etc.) and photography/videography and/or editing skills preferred
