Illinois Power Agency
The Illinois Power Agency (“IPA”) is an independent state agency established in 2007. It is subject to the oversight of the Executive Ethics Commission. The IPA prepares annual electricity procurement plans and manages power procurement for residential and small commercial customers of Illinois electric utilities who have not switched suppliers. The IPA is also responsible for the implementation of the Illinois Renewable Portfolio Standard (“RPS”), a state policy designed to drive the development of renewable energy resources.
