About the Role

The Communications Specialist is responsible for developing and executing communication strategies that promote Alliance Franchise Brands and support the growth and success of our franchise network. This role works closely with internal teams, Franchise Members, and external partners to ensure clear, consistent, and effective communication across multiple channels.

The ideal candidate is a strong writer with a strategic mindset, capable of translating complex information into engaging content for small business owners.

Essential Functions

  • Write, edit, and proofread original content for an audience of small business owners
  • Edit and proof content originating from other departments to ensure clarity, accuracy, and timely distribution
  • Write and deploy general and targeted electronic communications, including event promotions
  • Manage communication distribution lists
  • Conduct phone interviews with Franchise Members to develop success stories and case studies
  • Write, manage, and post content on the company intranet and maintain the Events Calendar
  • Resolve Franchise Member support tickets related to Communications activities
  • Monitor, track, and report on communications metrics and achievements
  • Assist with communications to Supplier Partners
  • Configure and deploy surveys and report findings
  • Stay current on industry trends and best practices in communications and marketing to drive engagement and open rates

  • Ability to quickly understand unfamiliar subjects and simplify complex information

Work Environment

  • Professional, corporate, and team‑oriented environment
  • Hybrid work schedule with a minimum of two (2) days per week onsite

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally
  • Standard business hours, with occasional overtime as needed to meet deadlines or address unexpected issues

Travel Required

  • Occasional travel may be required, including attendance at the annual Franchise Member convention

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English, or a related field
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in communications or marketing
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create compelling content for varied audiences
  • Experience collaborating with multiple stakeholders across departments and organizational levels

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Communications experience within a franchising or multi‑brand environment
  • Experience using email marketing platforms (e.g., Constant Contact)
  • Familiarity with CMS or intranet platforms (WordPress, Microsoft Dynamics)
  • Experience using survey tools (e.g., SurveyMonkey) and Copilot/AI tools
