Job Summary

Own and execute NOAA OCS communications programs and content strategy across digital platforms, translating technical mapping information for varied audiences and supporting NOS and OCS leadership in responding to evolving needs.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute communication plans that support OCS's organizational goals
  • Create and publish content across growing digital and social media platforms
  • Analyze web and social media performance to inform strategy
  • Draft clear, engaging materials that translate technical mapping/charting information for general audiences
  • Respond quickly and effectively to changing circumstances or communications needs
  • Attend and support standing meetings with NOS, the Customer Affairs Branch, and the Office of Marine and Aviation Operations

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 1 year of professional experience working with federal agency policies or Congressional engagement; minimum of 2 years total related work experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to translate technical material for varied audiences
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace, MS Word, PowerPoint, and InDesign
  • Familiarity with web content platforms (WordPress, Google Sites) and social media analytics tools
  • A creative, proactive approach to problem-solving and content development
