Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Supervisory Responsibilities: Outreach and Communications Coordinator
  • Brand & Marketing Strategy
  • Update, maintain, and steward Baltimore Tree Trust’s brand voice, messaging, and visual identity.
  • Ensure consistent and effective brand representation across all marketing channels and coordinate public-facing communications.
  • Lead the development and amplification of consistent, mission-driven messaging across all communications channels.
  • Digital Marketing & Channels
  • Manage and maintain the organization’s website, ensuring content is current, accurate, and engaging.
  • Oversee social media strategy and content execution to grow audience, engagement, and visibility.
  • Lead email audience segmentation and distribution strategy to ensure cohesive messaging and increase engagement across key stakeholder groups.
  • Review and approve all digital and print marketing materials to ensure brand alignment, quality standards, and consistency across channels.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience working in a marketing and communications role, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • Strong managerial experience developing goals, strategy, leading projects, and directing staff.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including writing, public speaking, and interacting with peers, team, volunteers, and organizational partners.
  • Strong management skills, critical thinking, and attention to detail required.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Familiarity with and ability to work well with diverse teams.
  • Ability to receive and give supportive feedback to foster equity and inclusion in working relationships. Including the ability to recognize, nurture, and learn from strengths in co-workers.
  • Proficiency with G-Suite, Canva Pro, Constant Contact, and Adobe Creative Cloud, comfortable learning new software.
  • Licenses and Certifications : Valid driver’s license.

Preferred

  • Experience working in the environmental and/or non-profit sectors preferred.
  • Curious, organized, and eager to learn nonprofit fundraising and development.
  • Collaborative team player who can also work independently with guidance.
  • Strong sense of integrity and accountability.
  • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and continuous learning.
  • Interest in Baltimore City, environmental justice, or urban forestry is a plus.
