Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day responsibilities include developing key messages and campaigns that highlight reforestation initiatives, writing and editing content for the website, newsletters, social media, and press releases, and ensuring consistent brand voice and positioning.
  • The role involves managing media relations, preparing materials for fundraising and partnership outreach, and coordinating internal communications to keep staff, volunteers, and stakeholders informed and aligned.
  • The Communications Manager will analyze engagement metrics, refine strategies based on performance, and collaborate closely with program, development, and leadership teams to amplify impact and visibility.

Requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience in content creation, editing, and storytelling for nonprofit or mission-driven organizations
  • Background in communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field, with the ability to develop and implement multi-channel communication strategies
  • Experience managing digital platforms such as websites, email campaigns, and social media, with familiarity in analytics and performance reporting
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with media, partners, and stakeholders, including drafting press materials and coordinating outreach
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines with attention to detail
  • Commitment to environmental sustainability, climate action, or conservation; experience in environmental or nonprofit sectors is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Environmental Studies, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience with basic design or content tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar) and familiarity with CRM or email marketing platforms is beneficial
