Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Lead Content Development
  • Develop written content across campaigns, publications, digital channels, stewardship, fundraising, executive communications, and organizational initiatives
  • Interview staff, volunteers, donors, and community partners to identify and develop compelling stories
  • Translate organizational priorities into clear, engaging, audience-centered messaging
  • Produce speeches, articles, impact stories, web content, email copy, reports, and other written communications
  • Drive Editorial Excellence
  • Manage the editorial calendar in partnership with Communications leadership
  • Maintain editorial standards for voice, tone, accuracy, and consistency
  • Identify proactive storytelling opportunities that advance organizational priorities
  • Maintain and expand Federation's story library

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of experience in communications, project coordination, event support, or a related field
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Teams, SharePoint, and project management tools such as ClickUp
  • Sound judgment, adaptability, and a solutions-oriented approach in fast-paced or changing environments
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to anticipate needs and manage multiple competing priorities
  • Candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Greater Washington (DC, MD, and Northern VA) region. This is a hybrid position, with 3 days a week required in our headquarters
