Job Summary

Own the digital outreach engine for HJF, shaping campaigns, social strategy, and online content with measurable impact in a DoD context.

  • Campaign ownership: Develop and manage creative digital outreach programs for HJF and customers, coordinating cross-channel execution.
  • Content and social leadership: Plan and maintain social media and digital tactics across HJF initiatives and events, plus manage online content on owned assets.
  • Measurement and governance: Track outcomes with surveys and analytics, reporting insights to improve reach and effectiveness, while upholding DoD and privacy guidelines. US Citizenship and ability to obtain T3/Secret clearance are required.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop and project manage new and creative digital outreach and marketing campaigns for HJF and, potentially, for its customers
  • Maintain lists of publication citations for internal reporting and public website, and compile schedules of conference participation through publication tracking process.
  • Plan, implement and maintain social media and digital outreach strategy and tactics for HJF initiatives, events, and other communication efforts.
  • Create, curate, and manage online content via HJF-owned digital assets, including websites.
  • Track and report metrics to measure and improve outreach efforts through surveys and other tools.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role.
  • Assigned Lead: May recommend the following: employee hiring, disciplinary action, and starting salaries; provide input on employee performance evaluations. Provides administrative and personnel actions supervision for Communications Team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a communications related field required. 5 years of experience managing similar work settings may be accepted in lieu of educational minimums.
  • Minimum 8 years in related experience preferred. Prior experience within the DoD system preferred.
  • Knowledge of the principles and methods of oral and written communication and skill sufficient to develop a wide variety of complex written and visual informational materials.
  • Knowledge of technical and professional guidelines applicable to communication initiatives such as libel and copyright laws, Privacy Act implications regarding the release of information, and relevant DoD regulations and practices.
  • Skill in utilizing software applications in the development of communications products such as web design and content, social media platforms, briefing materials, and marketing tools.
  • Knowledge of and skill to manage social media initiatives.
  • Customer-service mindset and excellent interpersonal, organizational and time management skills.
  • Proven writing experience.
  • Ability to identify new digital outlets.
  • US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a T3/Secret Clearance, including background check and drug screening.
