Job Summary

Own content and messaging for a donor-forward communications program, coordinating across development, program, and leadership to drive engagement and fundraising impact.

Content Engine: Build and publish donor-focused content across video, email, flyers, and social to deepen engagement.
Messaging & Brand: Adapt messaging for diverse donors, volunteers, and community members while enforcing brand voice and style guidelines.
Lifecycle & Performance: Maintain blogs, newsletters, and social channels, monitor metrics, and translate insights into improvements.

Job Description

Responsibilities\n

Create and produce content across channels (ex: video, email, flyers, etc.) which deepens engagement, inspires generosity, and advances mission.
\n
Manage and maintain digital platforms, including blog, newsletter and social media, while monitoring performance, reporting on metrics, and tracking relevant news and publications.
Develop and produce communications materials to support the annual Together for Tomorrow Luncheon, including promotional content, event messaging, and post-event follow-up.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines with strong attention to quality, accuracy, and editorial consistency.
Bring consistency to brand voice, messaging framework, and style guidelines.
Proofreads, edits and provides meaningful feedback on content drafted by colleagues.
Apply Community-Centric Fundraising principles.
Apply digital and print accessibility standards to create clear and inclusive content across formats and audiences.
Build strong, proactive working relationships with colleagues across development, program, and leadership teams to stay aligned on priorities, campaigns, and messaging needs.

\nRequirements\n

Minimum 2–3 years of experience in marketing or communications.
Demonstrated strength in writing and storytelling for external audiences; ability to create clear, compelling content that resonates with different audience segments.
Experience adapting messaging for a range of audiences, including donors, volunteers, and broader community members.
Familiarity with tracking and interpreting basic performance metrics for digital communications (email, web, or social).
Proficiency in software to perform content execution: video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro), email marketing (Constant Contact), content management system (WordPress), and graphic design (Canva).
Basic graphic design and video production skills required.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy; able to prioritize tasks appropriately and follow through with minimal supervision while managing multiple projects and deadlines.
Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills, including knowing when to take initiative and when to seek input from teammates or supervisors.
Ability to work collaboratively across teams, including fundraising, program, and leadership staff.
Self-aware, reflective, and able to build relationships with empathy and kindness.

1 year of nonprofit experience is a bonus.
Cultural humility and awareness when working with diverse communities; understanding of systemic intersectionality, especially as it impacts families of color facing economic injustice.

Family Law CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of King County

Family Law CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) serves as the voice of children in court when their parents are involved in contested paternity, divorce, and third party custody cases. We work to ensure a safe, nurturing environment for children in tough custody cases in King County. The children we serve are from low-to-moderate-income homes, and more than half are six years old or younger. Their cases often involve allegations of domestic violence, substance abuse and mental illness.Our mission is to advocate for children in some of King County's toughest custody cases so they have the best possible chance for a safer, more secure home life. We do this by utilizing community members who volunteer to become advocates. These special individuals thoroughly and objectively research the children’s family and home lives, then generate written reports to the court. These reports provide judges and commissioners with crucial information as they try to sort through allegations and decide on a custody arrangement that will be in the best interest of the child.Family Law CASA began taking cases in the summer of 2003. The organization is assigned to approximately 120 cases per year.
