Communications Manager

Responsibilities

• Leading communications projects, content development, and design for newsletters, website, social media, impact report, decks, and marketing materials.
• Coordinating the Bridges News Team to surface stories and gather content from across the organization, programs, and locations.
• Managing, monitoring, and enhancing Bridges’ content calendar, digital communications, brand, and multimedia assets.
• Maintaining Bridges’ brand, visual identity, templates, and communications platforms and tools, including Meta Business Suite, Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud/InDesign, and photography/video equipment.
• Maintaining an organized, accessible archive of photography, video, design files, templates, and completed collateral.
• Capturing and editing high-quality photography and video at key programs, events, and activities for use across Bridges’ communications.
• Coordinating external vendors and freelancers, as needed, for photography, video, design, printing, and other production needs.
• Supporting the editing, design, and production of fundraising communications materials as requested.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of professional communications experience, with demonstrated success managing projects and producing content across channels within an existing strategy.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with a strong understanding of audience, and who can be consistent and create content that reaches diverse audiences effectively.
• Strong project-management, planning, and organizational skills, with the ability and desire to collaborate effectively and manage multiple projects with varying deadlines.
• A proactive mindset, sound judgment, and the ability / willingness to recognize and act on strategic opportunities, develop ideas, seek feedback, and learn quickly.
• Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence, who will build trust across a diverse set of relationships within our organization and community.
• Experience managing social media and digital content, with proficiency in or the ability to quickly learn tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud/InDesign, and photography/video equipment.
• Pays attention to changes in the communications landscape and thinks about ways to better reach constituents in an increasingly cluttered digital communications environment.
• Strong photography and videography skills, including experience capturing and editing engaging visual content.
• Has reliable transportation.

Preferred

• Experience in nonprofit, education, youth development, or other mission-driven communications preferred.
