Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute APAICS’ overall communications and digital strategy in alignment with the organization’s strategic priorities.
  • Oversee all external communications, including social media, website content, email communications, newsletters, press releases, talking points, remarks, and other written materials.
  • Develop and maintain an editorial calendar to coordinate communications across programs, campaigns, and events.
  • Write, edit, and proofread clear, concise, and engaging content for a variety of audiences and platforms, including newsletters, annual reports, press releases, speeches and remarks, web content, and social media.
  • Develop communications strategies and campaigns that increase national awareness of APAICS, strengthen its public profile, and expand engagement with its audiences and communities.
  • Maintain and strengthen APAICS’ brand identity and ensure consistency across digital and print communications.
  • Oversee monthly and quarterly newsletters, event communications, and targeted email campaigns, including audience segmentation and list management.
  • Oversee the development and production of print and digital creative materials, working with internal staff and external vendors as needed.
  • Monitor communications performance, audience engagement, and digital analytics; use data and insights to refine strategies and improve results.
  • Prepare regular communications and performance reports for the President & CEO and Board of Directors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 3–5 years of professional experience in communications, marketing, public relations, digital media, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing strategic communications or marketing plans.
  • Experience managing digital communications platforms, social media, email marketing, and websites.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace, Canva, Hootsuite, or comparable communications and digital tools.
  • Nonprofit experience and/or experience working with Asian American and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander communities is a plus.

Preferred

  • Knowledge of media strategy, marketing, digital engagement, and promotion.
  • Knowledge of Asian American and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander communities and organizations is preferred.
  • A sense of humor and a high degree of professionalism.
