Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Create a toolkit for the department’s financial literacy partners under the Be Money $mart brand.
  • Support the creation and facilitation of social media content, including graphics, reels, stories and videos.
  • Develop and distribute press releases, media advisories and other written pieces on behalf of the department.
  • Assist the Communications team with in-office and on-site planning of press and community events.
  • Help the Communications team staff department leaders at press or community events.
  • Learn how to coordinate and organize community events.
  • Amplify the department’s financial literacy initiative, Be Money $mart, through the creation of graphics, videos, press releases, social media posts, and posters.
  • Design and develop a toolkit for Be Money $mart partners to help expand the initiative.
  • Coordinate with financial literacy partners on community events.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Broadcast Journalism, Journalism, Public Relations, Digital Marketing, Graphic Design or a related field; or
  • Currently enrolled as a graduate student in a declared master’s or doctorate degree program in Communications, Broadcast Journalism, Public Relations, Digital Marketing, Graphic Design or a related field.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Interest in brand management, content creation, public event planning or writing.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Canva or Adobe Suite.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to learn.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Residence in Pennsylvania for the entirety of the internship.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require submission of criminal history reports.
