Job Summary

Own the media strategy and rapid-response operations to amplify Forward’s message across traditional and emerging channels, coordinating with leadership, volunteers, and journalists for broad, credible reach.

  • Media strategy and outreach: define channels, metrics, and engagement approaches for younger voters.
  • Content and appearances: oversee content, podcasting, and media appearances to expand reach.
  • Surrogate coordination and cross-team alignment: manage surrogate programs and ensure consistent messaging across departments.

Job Description

  • Building out a New Media infrastructure
  • Define channels, metrics for success, and strategies to engage with younger voters through the media they engage with most
  • Implement strategies and content development that use these channels to increase Forward’s reach, through both organic and paid growth
  • Media Engagement
  • Represent the Forward Party in media appearances, including TV interviews, podcasts, press conferences, and public events.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists and media outlets to ensure consistent and favorable coverage of the Forward Party’s initiatives.
  • Strategic Messaging
  • Develop and oversee communication strategies that resonate with diverse audiences and align with the Forward Party’s mission and values.
  • Collaborate with leadership and other departments to craft unified and impactful messaging.
  • Work with volunteer groups across the country to ensure consistent messaging by Forward Party leaders and candidates
  • Proven experience (8+ years) in communications, media relations, or public relations.
  • Experience working through new media channels, either directly or through oversight.
  • Exceptional public speaking and on-camera presence, with the ability to build rapport with diverse audiences.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft clear and compelling messages.
  • A creative, forward-thinking approach to engaging with the public.
  • Familiarity with podcast production, digital platforms, and multimedia storytelling is a plus
