Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute comprehensive communication plans and strategies to align with CCSWW’s mission and goals.
  • Partner with the various agencies/systems that make up CCSWW to develop and implement communication strategies with both public and internal audiences. Help define communication needs and preferences.
  • Manage messaging for all channels, ensuring consistency with CCSWW’s brand, voice, values and style for both employees and the public.
  • Project manage communication campaigns to ensure a timely, successful completion.
  • Working with the Catholic Charities Foundation (CCF), collaborate with messaging that assists and broadens their reach, particularly around giving campaigns.
  • Build and maintain relationships with journalists and media outlets, coordinate media interviews, and serve as a spokesperson for CCSWW to further our mission.
  • Oversee the creation and distribution of various communication materials, such as press releases, speeches, newsletters, website content, and social media posts.
  • Develop content tailored to the specific medium and audience requirements (organization-wide or for specific agencies, systems or programs) across written, visual, interactive, and auditory formats
  • Lead the response to crises, managing potential negative publicity and safeguarding the CCSWW's reputation.
  • Guide CCSWW’s digital strategy, managing social media platforms to increase engagement and reach.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience (5+ years relevant experience beyond the required years of experience can be substituted in lieu of a bachelor’s degree). Master’s Degree is preferred.
  • 10+ years of corporate communications experience.
  • An understanding of Catholic Social Teachings and the connection of CCSWW with the Archdiocese of Seattle and the global Catholic Church.
  • At least three years’ experience managing a team.
  • Demonstrated success working with senior executive level clients and stakeholders.
  • Project management experience and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proven ability to consult with clients to determine requirements, stakeholders, and scope.
  • Experience communicating in multiple media (e.g., print, email, web, video/audio).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, complex, often-changing environment.
  • Excellent writing and oral communication skills, ability to persuade and build consensus with stakeholders.

Preferred

  • Master’s Degree is preferred.
