Responsibilities

  • Provide communications support for exhibitions, programs, events, announcements, and organizational initiatives.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of annual and campaign-specific marketing and communications plans across multiple platforms.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive communications and marketing calendar for programs, exhibitions, events, campaigns, and organizational announcements.
  • Manage and regularly update the organization’s website, ensuring information is accurate, timely, engaging, and aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Create, schedule, and manage content for social media, email marketing, newsletters, and other digital communications.
  • Write engaging, audience-focused copy for promotional materials, social media, email campaigns, website content, press releases, newsletters, and other communications.
  • Develop and coordinate graphic and visual assets for marketing and communications materials, working collaboratively with staff and leadership as needed.
  • Support the creation and implementation of a consistent organizational brand identity across digital and print communications.
  • Prepare press releases, media statements, organizational announcements, and other public relations materials.
  • May help formalize and maintain organizational brand guidelines, templates, visual standards, and other elements of a communications and branding toolkit.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, nonprofit management, arts administration, or a related field strongly preferred; equivalent professional experience will be considered.
  • 1–3 years of experience in communications, marketing, public relations, nonprofit development, arts administration, or a related field required.
  • Strong graphic design skills and familiarity with design tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to grammar, tone, and detail required.
  • Demonstrated ability to create clear, engaging, and audience-focused content.
  • Experience managing social media and digital communications platforms.
  • Experience with website content management systems and email marketing platforms.
  • Strong organizational and project-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Experience with analytics tools and an interest in using data to evaluate and improve communications strategies; willingness to learn is welcome.
  • Familiarity with basic nonprofit fundraising, donor communications, grant writing, or development practices; willingness to learn is welcome.

Preferred

  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills are preferred.
