Job Summary

Own the content translation and publication flow, turning academic research into accessible content, while supporting socials, digital comms, and key annual campaigns.

  • Content & Communications: Build written, visual, and video content from faculty and students and keep websites and newsletters up to date.
  • Campaign Planning: Help map Academic Year initiatives and big campaigns like Giving Day with timelines and deliverables.
  • Collaboration & Ops: Translate technical topics for diverse audiences and provide cross-team support across marketing and events.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Create content (written, photo, video) highlighting research from IAC faculty and graduate students;
  • Support social media, website updates, and digital communications;
  • Assist with content planning for Academic Year, including for annual campaigns such as Giving Day;
  • Assist with newsletters and promotional materials;
  • Collaborate with researchers to translate technical work into accessible content;
  • Provide general support for marketing and communications initiatives.

Requirements

  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Background/experience in marketing, communications, or technology-focused storytelling
  • Ability to convey complex topics clearly to diverse audiences
  • Familiarity with social media and digital content tools
  • Strong organizational and planning skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with faculty, students, staff, and external partners

Preferred

  • Undergraduate degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or similar field of study
  • Experience with web content management systems (CMS)
  • Experience in higher education, or other complex organization
  • Interest in current tech advancements and how they affect society (AI, machine learning, quantum, etc.)
  • Experience supporting events.
