Job Description

The Communications & Content Manager is a hands-on functional leader who has an aptitude to understand NCM’s business and multi-year strategic-plan and shape, execute, and evolve NCM’s internal and external communications in direct support our destination state and core values. This role goes beyond tactical messaging to ensure communication actively drives business growth, organizational alignment, and cultural health.
Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Operations, the Communications & Content Manager partners internally with executive leadership and people leaders and collaborates with cross-functional teams to translate strategy, change initiatives, and organizational priorities into clear, compelling, and actionable communications.
Externally, this role focuses on communicating company-level messages to customers and key stakeholders—such as organizational updates, strategic direction, and leadership perspectives.
Given NCM’s highly mobile workforce, this role is expected to design innovative, multi-channel engagement strategies.
Duties And Responsibilities
Strategic Communications Leadership
  • Own and evolve NCM’s internal and external communications strategy and campaigns, ensuring alignment with the organization’s destination state, values, and multi-year strategic plan.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on enterprise messaging, organizational change, and how communication can accelerate adoption and results.
  • Translate complex strategies, priorities, and change initiatives into clear narratives that resonate across diverse employee and stakeholder audiences.
  • Anticipate communication risks and opportunities associated with growth, transformation, and organizational change.
Internal Communications & Employee Engagement
  • Design and execute comprehensive internal communication campaigns that inform, engage, and align employees around strategy, priorities, and performance.
  • Own, curate content and continuously improve internal communication channels (e.g., SharePoint, town halls, leadership updates, newsletters), ensuring relevance, clarity, and accessibility without overwhelming employees with volume.
  • Develop communication approaches tailored to a mobile, traveling workforce, leveraging non-email channels and creative formats to increase reach and impact.
  • Partner with People, Operations, and leaders to support major change initiatives, including reorganizations, new capabilities, and cultural shifts.
  • Develop messaging frameworks and talking points for leaders engaging with internal audiences.
  • Support and elevate NCM’s Values Committee communications to reinforce behaviors, recognition, and cultural alignment.
  • Manage and maintain the corporate editorial calendar for internal and external communications, ensuring strategic alignment, prioritization, and consistency across initiatives.
External Corporate Communications
  • Lead external corporate communications, in partnership with marketing, focused on company messaging, strategic updates, and executive communications to customers and key stakeholders.
  • Develop messaging frameworks and talking points for leaders engaging with customers, partners, and external audiences.
  • Support executive communications such as announcements, letters, presentations, and stakeholder updates.
Measurement, Impact, & Continuous Improvement
  • Success in this role is measured not only by reach and awareness, but also by demonstrable impact on understanding, sentiment and behavioral change to support business outcomes.
  • Establish and own meaningful KPIs.
  • Design and manage feedback loops (e.g., surveys, listening sessions, leader input, qualitative insights) to assess employee understanding, sentiment, and the real-world impact of communications.
  • Partner with leaders and People teams to interpret feedback and translate insights into action.
  • Regularly assess communication effectiveness and adjust strategies based on data, feedback, and organizational outcomes.
  • Bring a continuous-improvement mindset to communications, experimenting with new formats, channels, and approaches.
Crisis Management & Counsel
  • Address media inquiries, support crisis communications and advise senior leadership on effective messaging strategies.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Organizational Development, Business, or a related field required; advanced degree a plus.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in internal communications, corporate communications, or change communications, with demonstrated strategic ownership of content development and management.
  • Proven experience advising senior leaders and executives on communication strategy and messaging.
  • Strong experience designing communications for organizations undergoing growth or transformation.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office 365 Suite (includes SharePoint and Viva Engage), video editing tools, Monday.com and other collaboration tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to measure communication effectiveness beyond basic engagement metrics.
