Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Communications Strategy Support - Support the development of creative, innovative communications plans in collaboration with the Director of Communications and Marketing and the Associate Director of Communications.
  • - Help clarify communications goals, audiences, and desired impact for priority initiatives.
  • - Coordinate with program leads and internal stakeholders to gather inputs and translate program strategy into an actionable communications work plan.
  • - Contribute ideas for messaging, narratives, and content angles that reflect Impact Justice’s mission and values.
  • Project Tracking - Lead day-to-day project tracking for communications workstreams, including timelines, owners, dependencies, and deadlines.
  • - Maintain project plans and task tracking in tools like Asana (or similar).
  • - Monitor progress across deliverables, flag risks or bottlenecks, and propose adjustments to keep work on track.
  • - Support meeting preparation and follow-through by tracking action items and ensuring next steps are clear.
  • Content Development and Editorial Support - Draft and edit communications materials, including email content, press releases, media pitches, web copy, toolkits, and internal communications.
  • - Review and refine materials drafted by teammates as needed, ensuring clarity, tone, accuracy, and alignment with organizational goals.
  • - Help uphold quality and consistency across outward-facing communications (voice, messaging, and brand alignment).
  • - Support content planning by identifying what’s needed, when, and in what format for key initiatives.
  • Media Relations Support - Monitor relevant news and media opportunities connected to Impact Justice’s work.
  • - Brainstorm and write compelling media pitches that secure impact-driven press for the organization.
  • - Support intake and routing of press inquiries in alignment with communications priorities.
  • - Coordinate logistics for interviews and media engagements, including scheduling and preparation support.
  • - Track media placements and outcomes, and share patterns or learnings with the communications team.
  • Social Media and Digital Campaign Support and Execution - Create, schedule, and publish social media content (primarily Instagram and LinkedIn), aligned with brand guidelines and evolving platform norms.
  • - Support multi-channel campaign execution, including social and email planning, calendars, and coordination with internal stakeholders.
  • - Track performance metrics and synthesize learnings into practical improvements over time.
