Job Description
In order to participate in Berklee Student Employment, a student must fulfill the following requirements:
Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program. Summer is the only semester in which a student can maintain employment without being enrolled. In this case, the student must be pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester. This exception does not apply to fall or spring semesters.
Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).
Remain in “valid” Visa status as applicable.
A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Students in their first semester can work, even though they do not have an official GPA until the completion of their first semester.
Federal Work Study student may apply.
In good disciplinary standing.
Must be located in the U.S.

The City Music Boston Social Media Assistant will provide social media content planning and execution support to the EOSE Director of Marketing and Communications. This is a 10–15 hour per week position. The Social Media Assistant must be able to cover occasional weekday nights when needed based on our event calendar.Applicants should have prior experience working with social media platforms in a professional capacity, including self-promotion and content curation, specifically with Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube. Experience with video and audio production is preferred; familiarity with podcasting and streaming set-ups is a plus.
Primary tasks will include maintaining and contributing to the social media content calendar, adhering to Berklee City Music social media brand design guidelines, and editing and posting content regularly to the Berklee City Music and City Music Boston social media accounts, including Instagram Stories. Additional responsibilities include supporting the EOSE Director of Marketing and Communications in maintaining the Berklee City Music website, including successfully streamlining social media content to the official .edu site.
Applicants should be organized, detail-oriented, punctual with deadlines, and display strong written and verbal communication skills. Prior experience with online design platforms such as Canva, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and/or InDesign is preferred, but not required.
Experience, Education, Skills:
Excellent attention to detail and a high motivation to learn
Proven written communication skills and comfort with copywriting
Strong problem-solving and verbal communication skills
Detail-oriented and organized approach to work
Experience with social media platforms, specifically Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube
Video editing experience a plus, including CapCut, iMovie, and/or Premiere
Experience with audio production, podcasting, and/or streaming set-ups a plus
Strong eye for social media content design and clean content aesthetics
Experience with informal and/or professional design software preferred, including Canva and Adobe Illustrator
Requirements:
Maintains and contributes to the social media content calendar on a weekly basis
Assists in the ideation process for social media content planning
Captures and live posts organic social media content at Berklee City Music events
Designs and edits social media posts to adhere to Berklee City Music brand guidelines
Supports basic video and audio content capture, editing, and production needs, as needed
Provides copy for long-form Facebook posts and event write-ups
Ensures social media content directly streamlines to the Berklee City Music website
Assists with promoting major programming events
