Position Summary:

Riverfront Canal Cruises is looking for energetic, personable, and dedicated individuals who enjoy interacting with people to join the team at the Riverfront Canal Cruise ticket kiosk. Canal Cruise kiosk operators are expected to accept payment from customers on an iPad-based point of sale system and a cash register, answer questions on the phone and in person about the tours and the riverfront, as well as assist with the orderliness of the kiosk, among other duties. Successful Canal Cruise kiosk staff are friendly and outgoing and feel comfortable with responsibility and technology. Kiosk staff must also be able to work effectively with minimal supervision. 

Kiosk staff hold a part-time position with Venture Richmond during the Canal Cruise season. Weekend and weekday shifts are available and range from 11:00am to 7:30pm. Shifts can vary from 1-4 days a week. New hires will receive paid training prior to their first day. The tour season begins the first weekend in April and continues through the second weekend of November. 

Kiosk staff are expected to be capable, responsible, and put forth a professional and knowledgeable appearance both with customers and fellow employees. The starting pay rate is $16/hour. Some knowledge and a passion for Richmond history and Downtown Richmond is required.

This position requires the following essential physical, mental, sensory abilities and working conditions:

• Lift up to 30 lbs. unassisted

• Concentrate, recognize, remember, reason, and make decisions

• Work may be performed outdoors which may include being exposed to extreme noise, temperature changes, odors, heights, and dust

Level of Education/Experience required:

• Customer service experience preferred 

• Point-of-sale system experience preferred

• Working knowledge of computers and electronic communication devices required

• Use of personal vehicle and a valid driver’s license required

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
