Job Description

Most internships have you formatting decks and ordering lunch. This one has you in the room when we figure out what a brand is actually supposed to mean to people.

About Misfit

Design quality is non-negotiable, and we'd rather kill a campaign than ship something that looks like everyone else's. We also keep the team small on purpose, which means interns sit in on real client calls and contribute to work that actually ships, not the imaginary capstone project version of it.

The role

You'll support our strategy leads on 2 to 3 client accounts over the course of the internship, doing competitive audits, cultural research, and the kind of "what is this brand even trying to say" analysis that informs everything downstream. Expect to present your own thinking to the team most weeks. We hire interns who want to be challenged, not handheld.

You'd be a fit if

  • You have a folder, a Notes app, or a Substack full of brands and ads you find interesting, and you can articulate why
  • You're studying marketing, communications, design, or you're self-taught and have receipts
  • You can write a paragraph that sounds like a person wrote it, not a chatbot or a 2014 marketing blog
  • You're curious about why people buy what they buy, beyond the surface level demo and psychographic stuff

  1. Apply through this listing with your portfolio or relevant links
