Job Summary

Drive media coverage and audience amplification for new history books by leading PR campaigns, building influencer and partner relationships, and coordinating launch momentum with editorial and marketing.

  • Own book outreach: secure coverage, reviews, features in publications, blogs, and podcasts.
  • Partnerships and events: cultivate reviewers, booksellers, history influencers, author events, library outreach, and cross-promotions.
  • Awards and guides: identify and pitch for awards, best-of lists, reading guides, and gift recommendations.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop and run PR campaigns to secure media coverage, reviews and features for our books in relevant publications, blogs and podcasts
  • Build relationships with book reviewers, booksellers, history influencers and other partners who can help amplify our titles
  • Identify and pitch our books for awards, "best of" lists, reading guides and gift recommendations
  • Propose and lead special projects, for example book club partnerships, author events, library outreach, cross-promotions with aligned organisations or pop-up activations around publication dates
  • Track outreach activity and report on results so we can learn what works
  • Work closely with our editorial and marketing teams on launch plans for new titles

Requirements

  • Experience in marketing, publicity or PR, ideally within publishing (we are open to professionals aiming to gain experience for a career change, for example)
  • A strong network of contacts in publishing, media or the history community is a plus
  • Confidence reaching out to journalists, reviewers and partners on our behalf
  • Creative thinking and the ability to propose ideas
