Job Summary

Own the national account liaison for natural gas cooking in the foodservice space, plus build the NA contact network and align utility players with market needs.

  • Own and develop relationships with restaurant national accounts and their decision makers to promote natural gas technologies.
  • Compile and expand contact lists for energy managers at NA and coordinate with BFA utilities to surface market needs and opportunities.
  • Create pathways and deliver clear follow ups by reporting on meetings, opportunities, and next steps with NA contacts.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • The Blue Flame Alliance (BFA) Relationship Manager will meet with restaurant national accounts (NA) and promote natural gas technologies to this market.
  • The overall goal is to develop relationships with key national account decision makers and effect a change that includes natural gas cooking and ancillary equipment.
  • A secondary goal is to keep natural gas energy, cooking and equipment top of mind for the food and hospitality industry.
  • The manager will also work closely with BFA utility members to help them meet their food service goals.
  • The manager will provide technical and marketing services to ESC and members of BFA.
  • This position is for approx. 20 hours per month of consulting services.
  • Compile a comprehensive list of all restaurant or hospitality national accounts along with parent company name. Obtain/compile list of energy manager contacts at National Accounts and add to this contact list. Work with BFA members to obtain some contacts.
  • Contact BFA utility and Affiliate members quarterly for 30-minute one-on-ones to understand market needs, learn of new products, and find paths that can benefit all BFA members.
  • Secure speakers for BFA monthly meetings.
  • Help educate gas utility staff and strategize with them related to the foodservice market.
  • Connect BFA & Utility members to the foodservice industry.
  • Sign-up gas utilities to share during monthly calls what they are specifically doing with the foodservice market, success stories, or challenges in this market.
  • Report to BFA on relevant developments, challenges, threats, and success stories learned about from these calls.
  • Meet with Restaurant National Accounts by phone and or email on behalf of the natural gas industry to build relationships between the natural gas industry and NA’s.
  • The Relationship Manager through ESC has access to gas utility reps across North America who serve some 50 million end users with gas (about 2/3 of all gas customers). This should open many doors as the manager can help find the right contact for NA when they have issues getting natural gas or want to find rebates for a given area.
  • Create, maintain and develop new pathways that the gas industry can use to impact NA customers in collaboration with other participants in the BFA.
  • Introduce NAs to Demo kitchen managers in case they want to try different equipment side by side with their own recipe.
  • Provide detailed reports on meetings, opportunities, next steps, and follow-up strategy from meeting with NA’s.
  • Misc items as needed such as attending monthly BFA meetings, preparing detailed reports for BFA on activities and follow-up with meeting speakers
