Hawaii Coffee Company is the largest roaster of Kona Coffee in the world and Hawaii's leading supplier of coffee to the Island's hotels, restaurants, and retail stores. The parent company to 5 brands; Lion Coffee, Royal Kona, Hawaiian Isles Coffee Roasters Co., Hawaiian Islands Tea, and KOA Coffee products, which are available throughout the United States, eCommerce marketplaces, as well as in international markets.

The primary roasting, manufacturing, and distribution facility is located in Honolulu, Hawaii. This same facility houses the corporate office, along with a cafe that offers roastery tours. Hawaii Coffee Company also operates a coffee mill in Kona and sources coffee from numerous other origins, ensuring the highest quality and consistency across all its products.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Assistant Director, eCommerce supports the growth and operational execution of Hawaii Coffee Company’s eCommerce business. This role is responsible for logistics coordination, demand forecasting, inventory alignment, operational planning, and supporting strategic growth initiatives across direct-to-consumer and marketplace channels, both domestically and internationally.

The ideal candidate is highly analytical, operationally driven, and capable of balancing day-to-day execution with long-term business support.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

Logistics & Fulfillment Operations

  • Oversee eCommerce fulfillment coordination to ensure timely, accurate, and cost-effective order processing. 
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to improve shipping performance and customer satisfaction. 
  • Oversee fulfillment KPIs including shipping timelines, inventory accuracy, and order quality metrics. 
  • Support operational improvements that enhance scalability and efficiency. Partner with Finance to support accurate inventory valuation, COGS reporting, and audit readiness. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Forecasting & Inventory Planning

  • Develop and maintain sales forecasts across eCommerce channels and promotional periods. 
  • Collaborate with supply chain and production teams to align inventory levels with demand projections. 
  • Monitor inventory performance, identify risks, and recommend replenishment strategies. 
  • Support seasonal planning, product launches, and promotional inventory forecasting.

eCommerce Growth Support

  • Assist in executing strategic growth initiatives across DTC, marketplace, and international channels. 
  • Support promotional planning, product launches, and merchandising initiatives. 
  • Analyze sales and operational performance data to identify trends and optimization opportunities. 
  • Help manage reporting dashboards and performance tracking for leadership review. 

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Serve as a key liaison between eCommerce, operations, marketing, finance, and customer service teams. 
  • Support implementation of new processes, systems, and operational workflows. 
  • Assist in managing vendor relationships and operational partnerships as needed.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree (Four-year college or university). MBA desired.
  • 7+ Years of experience in increasingly senior digital marketing and management roles, with experienced in consumer product categories strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in DTC eCommerce and/or Marketplaces (Amazon + Walmart)
  • Demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth and innovation in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and knowledge of various analytics tools and platforms, with the ability to summarize key data for C-level executives.
  • Hands on experience in managing eCommerce platforms/apps (ex: Big Commerce, Shopify, Ordergroove, ShipStation, Zenventory, Google Analytics).
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Expertise in partnering across organization to deliver key company goals.
  • Leadership experience includes managing and developing team members from a variety of backgrounds. Build strong cross-functional relationships.
  • Time management ability to ensure that work is completed within specified time and quality parameters to meet the company demands.
  • Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications and syndicated data reporting.
