About the Role
We are seeking an Asset Lifecycle Specialist to manage a large, multi-OEM technology asset estate for a single strategic customer. This role will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy, renewal readiness, lifecycle hygiene, and operational integrity of customer assets within a custom-built Salesforce environment. This is a customer-facing role that requires strong operational discipline, attention to detail, OEM coordination skills, and the ability to turn complex asset data into actionable renewal, support, and lifecycle outcomes. The ideal candidate will understand how hardware, software, support contracts, warranties, subscriptions, serial numbers, install locations, entitlement records, and renewal timelines connect to the customer’s broader technology lifecycle. The role will support assets across multiple OEMs and technology partners, including HPE, Juniper, Arista, Cisco, Dell, Supermicro, and Sycomp-managed services or solutions.
Responsibilities
Asset Lifecycle Management
- Manage and maintain accurate asset records for approximately 50,000 customer assets within a custom Salesforce environment.
- Track asset lifecycle status, including active, expiring, unsupported, end-of-sale, end-of-support, eligible for refresh, eligible for renewal, and eligible for remarketing.
- Ensure asset records are complete, accurate, and usable for renewal forecasting, support validation, lifecycle planning, and customer reporting.
- Identify gaps, duplicates, expired coverage, mismatched serial numbers, missing install-site data, inaccurate OEM records, and other hygiene issues that could create renewal or support risk.
- Maintain asset-to-contract, asset-to-location, asset-to-customer, and asset-to-OEM relationships where applicable.
Renewal Readiness and Hygiene
- Prepare asset data for renewal events across hardware support, software subscriptions, warranties, maintenance agreements, and other lifecycle motions.
- Partner with internal renewal, sales, operations, and customer success teams to ensure renewal data is accurate before quotes, customer reviews, or OEM engagement.
- Track renewal milestones, SLA commitments, required data corrections, customer approvals, and OEM dependencies.
- Support proactive renewal planning so the customer is not forced into last-minute fire drills caused by missing, inaccurate, or incomplete asset data.
- Identify renewal optimization opportunities such as consolidation, co-terming, asset removal, duplicate coverage cleanup, unsupported equipment, and refresh candidates.
Customer-Facing Support
- Serve as an operational point of contact for asset lifecycle questions, renewal readiness updates, data hygiene reviews, and asset discovery findings.
- Participate in customer meetings as needed to review asset status, open issues, SLA performance, renewal risk, and recommended next actions.
- Translate complex OEM or lifecycle data into clear customer-facing summaries.
- Document findings, decisions, exceptions, and next steps in a consistent and professional manner.
OEM and Partner Coordination
- Work with OEMs and partner teams, including HPE, Juniper, Arista, Cisco, Dell, Supermicro, and Sycomp internal resources, to validate asset ownership, entitlement status, support coverage, warranty data, lifecycle milestones, and renewal eligibility.
- Open and manage OEM data correction requests when records are incomplete, inaccurate, misaligned, or require investigation.
- Use strong OEM soft skills to navigate ambiguity, escalate appropriately, and drive resolution without creating unnecessary friction.
- Understand how OEM programs, support processes, entitlement systems, and lifecycle data can differ across manufacturers.
RCA, Discovery, and Data Remediation
- Perform root cause analysis when asset data, entitlement status, renewal records, or customer expectations do not align.
- Investigate discrepancies between customer records, Salesforce data, OEM portals, support contracts, serial number records, and renewal quotes.
- Develop repeatable discovery and remediation processes for recurring data quality issues.
- Identify systemic problems and recommend process improvements to prevent repeat issues.
SLA and Process Management
- Manage work in accordance with current customer SLAs.
- Track open requests, aging items, issue ownership, escalation status, and resolution timelines.
- Maintain clear documentation of asset hygiene activities, renewal readiness work, RCA findings, customer requests, and OEM escalations.
- Support dashboarding, reporting, and operational review processes inside Salesforce or related reporting tools.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in IT asset management, technology lifecycle management, renewals, customer success operations, partner operations, service delivery, or a related technology operations role.
- Experience managing hardware, software, warranty, support, subscription, or contract data.
- Strong Salesforce experience, preferably working in a custom object or custom workflow environment.
- Strong data hygiene skills, including the ability to identify incomplete, duplicate, conflicting, or unreliable records.
- Comfortable working with large datasets and high-volume asset environments.
- Experience working directly with customers in an operational, reporting, renewal, or lifecycle capacity.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple OEMs, open issues, SLAs, and customer priorities at the same time.
- Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
- High attention to detail and strong follow-through.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with one or more OEM ecosystems, including Cisco, HPE, Dell, Juniper, Arista, or Supermicro.
The starting salary for this role is $85,000 USD annual.
