The Area Coordinator is a full-time, 12-month, live-on professional staff member in the Office of Residence Life. The Area Coordinator reports to the Associate Director of Residence Life and shares in the responsibility for all facets of the Residence Life program. The Area Coordinator leads a residential community and has responsibility for supporting Residence Life initiatives (such as Living-Learning Communities, RA Training and Development, or Marketing).

University core business hours are generally 8:30 am – 5:00 pm. However this position will require work to be performed outside of normal business hours based on department operations. Availability to work some nights and weekends when needed in order to ensure a quality student experience is an expectation for this position.

Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; to travel to other office locations and to verbally communicate to exchange information.

Starting salary will be $37,000 – $39,000, commensurate with qualifications.
