Job Description
Job title: Arbortext consultant
Location: Columbus, IN 47201 (Hybrid)

Job Purpose
Lead the transformation of service documentation from traditional document-based authoring (MS Word/PDF) to a structured DITA-based content management environment using Arbortext and Windchill. The role is responsible for content analysis, content modeling, migration planning, conversion strategy, information architecture, reusable content identification, and governance of structured authoring standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Content Assessment & Migration
- Analyze existing service documentation.
- Identify reusable content modules and develop content reuse strategies.
- Define content decomposition and modularization approaches for DITA authoring.
- Lead migration of legacy Word documents into structured Arbortext content.
- Define content mapping from existing documentation to DITA topics, maps, and bookmaps.
- Establish metadata, taxonomy, and classification standards.
- Arbortext & Windchill Configuration Support
- Collaborate with technical teams on Arbortext and Windchill implementation.
- Define business requirements for content workflows and governance.
- Review publishing requirements and output formats.
- Support stylesheet and publishing requirements definition.
- Process Improvement
- Establish structured authoring best practices.
- Define content governance standards.
- Develop authoring guidelines and reusable templates.
- Establish content lifecycle management processes.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Work with Service Customer Care SMEs, technical teams.
- Conduct content workshops and requirement gathering sessions.
- Provide recommendations for content optimization and reuse.
