Job Description

UT MD Anderson has the nation's largest cancer clinical trials program enrolling patients in Texas and beyond through our Cancer Network® partners across the country. UT MD Anderson is devoted to the needs and protection of all those participating in or conducting clinical research while maintaining high ethical standards and compliance with all regulatory policies. The Division of Clinical Research provides infrastructure support for all aspects of clinical research.
The Administrative Assistant - Communication position provides administrative support to ensure division efficiency and productivity.
The ideal candidate will be an exceptional communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills and a background in communications, English, graphic design, or a related field. The successful candidate will be highly proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint, and comfortable working with technology and digital tools. This individual will have excellent attention to detail and the ability to create, edit, and format polished, professional communications, including newsletters, presentations, reports, and other materials. The ideal candidate will be organized, creative, adaptable, and able to communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences.
Minimum $19.71 - Midpoint $24.52 - Maximum $29.33
Work Location: Texas Medical Center
The typical work schedule is Hybrid Based on Business needs.

Responsibilities
Communications Support (70%)
  • Format and review PowerPoint presentations to ensure accuracy and professional quality
  • Maintain and update SharePoint content to support division communications and information access
  • Write, edit, and format division-wide and institution-wide communications
  • Support communication initiatives that enhance division efficiency and productivity
Project Support (25%)
  • Provide administrative and coordination support for project and operational activities
  • Support updates and maintenance of Microsoft Forms, Microsoft Lists, and other Microsoft systems
  • Assist with data collection, data entry, and basic reporting for dashboards and internal reports
  • Assist with developing and maintaining workflows for project-related processes
  • Support the creation and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Coordinate activities that help ensure project objectives and operational priorities are met
Administrative Support (5%)
  • Coordinate special divisional projects, including employee lunches
  • Provide general administrative support to enhance division operations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
EDUCATION
  • Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree
Work Experience
  • Required: Four years Administrative/secretarial experience or No experience required with preferred degree. No experience required with preferred degree
  • Preferred: Background in communications, English, graphic design, or a related field. Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint, and comfortable working with technology and digital tools. The ability to create, edit, and format polished, professional communications, including newsletters, presentations, reports, and other materials.
