Job Description
Direct Mail Solutions is a full service mail and fulfillment company located in Richmond, Virginia. DMS is seeking an Entry Level Mechanic who will be responsible for preparation, repair, and maintenance of production equipment.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Ability to perform mechanical or electrical troubleshooting.
- Identify ways to take proper corrective action and to expedite operational status of production machinery.
- Ability to perform all machine tasks and operate the equipment.
- Perform daily maintenance on equipment and machinery.
- Train and assist operators in functioning techniques and adjustments.
- Provide support in areas necessary to maximize productivity.
- Identify ways to take proper corrective action and to expedite operational status of production machinery.
- Mechanical and Electrical skills are required.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to identify equipment problems.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Work independently and self-motivated.
- Any relevant post high school training is a plus.
- Minimum of one-year previous mechanical experience is required.
- Must follow safety guidelines, minimize the downtime of machines, and keep all machines in safe working order.
- Inspecting, Repairing, and Performing Maintenance on Equipment (pneumatic, electrical, control, and conveyor belt systems.)
- Fabrication of Machine Parts (We use Stick or MIG, depending on the machine set-up.)
- Reading Schematics, Blueprints, and a Voltage Meter (solid understanding of 24v, AC/DC, 110V, Transformers, Conductors, Relays, Single and Three-Phase Motors)
- Troubleshooting Programmable Logic Controllers
The core work hours are Monday - Thursday 7:40 pm- 6:10 am
