Causal is searching for a motivated remote Accounting Specialist — could that be you? We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Specialist to support our day-to-day financial operations. In this role, you will own the daily activities for both Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP), while assisting with general ledger tasks and month-end close preparation.

This is an excellent entry-level or early-career opportunity. We are highly open to a motivated recent college graduate with a degree in accounting or a related field who is eager to launch their career, as well as candidates with around a year of hands-on bookkeeping experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day Accounts Receivable activities: generating customer invoices, applying incoming payments, and following up on aging accounts to keep collections on track.
• Manage Accounts Payable processing: coding and entering vendor invoices, matching invoices to purchase orders, and maintaining strong vendor relationships.
• Support month-end close by assisting with data entry, account reconciliations, and pulling support schedules for the accounting team.
• Maintain neat, organized, and audit-ready digital financial records for all AP/AR transactions.

Key Competencies

• Solid foundational Excel skills, including comfort with basic formulas, formatting, sorting data, and Pivot Tables.
• High attention to detail — you catch the double-billing error or the transposed number that others miss.
• Strong communication skills — comfortable picking up the phone to talk to a customer about a past-due invoice or emailing a vendor.
• Coachability — a strong desire to learn corporate accounting workflows from the ground up.

Experience and Education

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or General Business is highly preferred (recent graduates are strongly encouraged to apply).
• Around 1 year of experience in a clerical accounting, AP, AR, or bookkeeping role preferred; equivalent internship experience will absolutely be considered.

Salary Range

The expected base salary range for this position is $60,000 to $70,000. We will take into consideration many factors including geographic location, work experience, market demands and conditions, and other job-related factors. The base pay is subject to change and will be determined based on these job-related factors.
