Job Summary

Own cross-functional shopper marketing programs from strategy through measurement, translating shopper insights into retail-ready initiatives that move demand and shelf performance.

  • Program Execution & Strategy: Oversee end-to-end program development, shopper strategy, insights integration, creative production, budgeting, and measurement.
  • Shopper Marketing Leadership: Translate shopper insights into briefs and strategic recommendations to improve retail effectiveness.
  • Client & Relationship Management: Maintain strong client and stakeholder partnerships, serving as the strategic advisor on shopper marketing best practices.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Program Execution & Strategy: Oversee all executional aspects of program development, including shopper strategy development, consumer insights integration, creative development, production, budgeting, and measurement. Ensure all initiatives are grounded in shopper insights and align with retail objectives.
  • Shopper Marketing Leadership: Lead shopper marketing initiatives and retail programs with a deep understanding of shopper behavior, motivations, and decision-making patterns. Translate shopper insights into actionable creative briefs and strategic recommendations. Utilize shopper data and research to inform program development and optimize retail effectiveness.
  • Client & Relationship Management: Manage and maintain exceptionally strong relationships with clients, vendors, internal partners, and retail stakeholders. Serve as the primary strategic advisor to clients on shopper marketing best practices and retail innovation. Proactively communicate insights, challenges, and solutions.
  • Budget & Resource Management: Develop and manage budgets with meticulous attention to detail and financial acumen. Identify cost-saving opportunities, negotiate with vendors, and ensure resources are allocated strategically. Manage timelines and project schedules to ensure on-time delivery within budget constraints.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Provide strategic leadership, mentorship, and support for junior team members, including Account Coordinators, Account Executives, and Associate Account Managers. Foster professional growth, coach team members on shopper marketing fundamentals, and build a collaborative, high-performing team culture.
  • Strategic Communications: Lead compelling internal and client presentations with confidence and enthusiasm. Present strategic recommendations, shopper insights, and program results in clear, compelling narratives. Translate complex data into actionable recommendations.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner effectively across creative, production, strategy, consumer insights, and retail teams. Facilitate seamless collaboration between agency disciplines and client teams. Coordinate integrated campaigns that span multiple channels and touchpoints.
  • Thought Leadership & Problem-Solving: Contribute strategic thought leadership through insightful points of view, shopper-centric recommendations, and innovative executional solutions. Demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities, providing efficient and creative solutions to complex challenges.
  • Process Improvement: Actively assess agency processes, business challenges, and market trends to identify opportunities for improvement. Recommend and implement process enhancements that increase efficiency, effectiveness, and client satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Experience: 6+ years of relevant experience in a client service-oriented role, with at least 3+ years of direct shopper marketing, retail marketing, or consumer insights experience
  • Shopper Marketing Expertise: Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in shopper marketing, shopper insights, retail strategy, and point-of-sale execution. Understanding of shopper journey mapping, retail dynamics, and consumer decision-making
  • Management: Proven management or supervisory experience with the ability to lead and develop team members
  • Account/Client Leadership: Demonstrated success managing key client relationships and serving as a strategic advisor
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop insights-driven strategies, translate data into actionable recommendations, and think beyond tactical execution
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently with minimal guidance; comfort taking initiative and ownership
