Job Description

Account Manager, Customer Growth

About Vendra

Vendra is building the #1 manufacturing platform for aerospace & defense engineering teams.

Our customers use Vendra to source complex machined parts from qualified U.S. manufacturers - faster, with better supplier fit, clearer communication, and less operational drag.

We work with teams building some of the most ambitious physical parts in the world. As our customer base grows, we are hiring an Account Manager, Customer Growth, to help make sure every customer relationship turns into long-term trust, repeat usage, and measurable business growth.

We’re scaling and growing fast and looking for exceptional people who want to help build a category-defining company in American manufacturing.

Why this role?

Vendra already has customers who know us, trust us, and have used us to get parts made.

The opportunity now is to make sure those customers keep coming back. This role will directly impact repeat revenue, customer trust, account expansion, and the way Vendra builds its GTM motion as we scale.

About the role

This is a commercial account-growth role focused on existing and previous Vendra customers.

Your job is to help turn Vendra’s customer base into a repeatable growth engine: driving repeat RFQs, reactivating accounts, expanding usage across teams, and increasing customer spend over time.

You will own the relationships, systems, and follow-up motion that make sure customers keep coming back to Vendra, submit more RFQs, expand across their companies, and think of Vendra first whenever they need machined parts made.

This is not

  • a traditional SDR or BDR role focused on cold outbound
  • a passive customer support role. This role sits at the center of customer relationships, commercial growth, and account expansion.

You will not own every customer relationship alone, but you will be responsible for the cadence behind them, and ensuring they happen.

You will work directly with some of the best mechanical and technical engineers in the industry, understanding their requirements and helping Vendra support their manufacturing needs.

What you’ll do

  • Own and grow relationships across Vendra’s existing and previous customer base.
  • Build and manage the follow-up motion across warm accounts, making sure every previous customer, active RFQ, and expansion opportunity has a clear next step.
  • Re-engage customers who have used Vendra before to bring them back
  • Help active RFQs move forward by asking the right questions, identifying blockers, and keeping customers engaged.
  • Build deep, trusted relationships with Vendra customers
  • Expand Vendra across existing accounts by finding new teams and part categories inside companies that already know us.
  • Turn customer conversations into useful insight for the rest of the company, including sales, operations, supply chain, product, and marketing.
  • Create the cadence, workflows, tools, and follow-up systems that make sure no customer opportunity falls through the cracks.
  • Help Vendra become the obvious first choice whenever customers need machined parts made.

The engine you’ll build

You will own and build the operating system for account management and customer growth at Vendra.

That means creating the cadence, workflows, tools, and follow-up motion that make sure every important customer relationship is actively managed and tied to clear business outcomes: repeat RFQs, reactivated accounts, expanded usage, increased spend, and stronger customer trust.

We care less about the exact system you use and more about the results it drives.

Whether it is a CRM, spreadsheets, automation tools, LLMs, calendar workflows, or something you build yourself, your job is to make sure no customer opportunity falls through the cracks and every account has a clear path to growth.

What success looks like

The core metric is simple: repeat RFQs and repeat revenue from existing and previous accounts.

Who you are

  • You are commercially sharp, highly organized, and energized by customer conversations.
  • You like following up. You like finding loose ends. You like turning messy information into a system.
  • You are comfortable picking up the phone, asking direct questions, and building trust with technical customers.
  • You are driven by building something, but equally so by the results it drives.
  • You are excited by startups, speed, ownership.
  • You are technically curious and comfortable discussing drawings, materials, tolerances, manufacturing processes, and part requirements with engineers.

What we’re looking for

  • 2–5 years of experience in account management, customer success, sales, business development, growth, or another customer-facing commercial role.
  • Experience in a B2B startup or fast-moving commercial environment.
  • Strong follow-up discipline and comfort managing a large number of customer relationships at once.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • A customer-first mindset with clear commercial instincts.
  • Comfort operating with ambiguity and building process where none exists.
  • Bonus: experience or interest in manufacturing, aerospace, defense, space, robotics, hardware, supply chain, procurement, industrial technology, or marketplaces.
  • A mechanical engineering, manufacturing, hardware, or other technical background is strongly preferred.
  • Based in SF (we can help with re-location, if required) and comfortable working in person, 5 days a week

  2. Take-home assignment
