Job Summary

Own tech PR and brand leadership for client programs, shaping strategy, executive storytelling, media coverage, and growth of reputation across startups to enterprise.

Job Description

Own complex tech communications programs for clients, guiding end-to-end brand and reputation work and shaping executive storytelling that moves coverage and visibility.

  • Brand strategy and executive communications: lead strategy, manage projects end-to-end, and coordinate execution.
  • Media relations and thought leadership: secure coverage for tech clients and generate bylines and pitch ideas.
  • Client leadership advisory and business development: maintain senior partner relationships, optimize staffing, and support new business.

Responsibilities

  • Establish strong relationships with client partners to gain a clear understanding of objectives.
  • Effectively advise client leaders on communications strategy to protect reputation and build brand equity.
  • Develop and execute strategic brand and communications plans and lead workstreams end-to-end, including strategic direction, project management and tactical execution.
  • Write, edit and manage the production of a wide range of communications on behalf of client senior executives.
  • Consistently drive top-tier feature coverage and flag opportunities and challenges that clients may encounter.
  • Proactively compose thought leadership bylines, pitch stories and generate brand awareness, especially around emerging technologies.
  • Manage project reporting and benchmarking and drive ongoing client optimization / spotlight agency successes.
  • Collaborate with senior staff on account staffing and resource allocation.
  • Participate in new business development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
  • 9-12 years of experience in communications or related field (marketing, journalism, etc.), prior agency experience is a plus.
  • Strong relationship building skills and ability to guide and support senior business leaders as they work to achieve their visibility and reputation goals.
  • A strong understanding of and interest in the tech sector, with the ability to translate complex concepts into compelling stories.
  • A proven track record of securing meaningful media coverage for tech clients.
  • An intuitive grasp of the unique comms needs of startups, innovators, and established tech brands.
  • Excellent presentation skills and executive presence.
  • Creative and strategic thinker with strong writing & editing skills.
  • Flexibility, adaptability and ability to prioritize multiple projects and clients at the same time.
  • Self-starter with a growth mindset and entrepreneurial spirit.

Preferred

  • prior agency experience is a plus.
