The Position
The Creative internship will provide meaningful and educational real-world experience within the scope of an independent music publishing company. Reservoir’s objective in hosting all interns is to provide valuable preparation for a professional career in the entertainment industry. Reservoir’s internship program is a maximum 12-week, part time, paid program and students may earn college credit upon completion of the internship. This internship will run from June 1st - Aug 21st. The role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities.
Utilizing Excel and spreadsheet tools to organize and track music catalog data, new releases, and internal reporting.
Supporting the creative team with social media research and awareness of current digital trends across major platforms.
Transcribing and formating song lyrics for new music submissions and catalog entries.
Assisting with tagging and organizing new song submissions to optimize them for sync licensing opportunities.
Learning and operating industry software platforms such as DISCO for catalog management, music sharing, and internal workflows.
Curating song pitch lists for the creative team to present to supervisors, partners, and potential placements.
Maintaining and updating weekly tracking spreadsheets related to new releases and catalog activity.
Conducting research on new artist signings, catalog acquisitions, and broader industry developments to support the creative department.
Utilizing AI music tools such as Suno to develop pitch-ready demo recordings from work tapes for creative and sync pitching opportunities.
Qualifications
Undergraduate students enrolled in music business, entertainment industry studies, or a related program.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, combined with exceptional attention to detail and a thoughtful, solutions-oriented approach to tasks.
Genuine interest in the music industry, combined with a positive attitude, intellectual curiosity, and a proactive approach to learning.
Exceptional organizational skills and reliability, with the ability to take initiative and maintain a high level of professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with music technology platforms such as Suno and DISCO is a plus.
