Own and manage Meta publishing across platforms for the WNBA, coordinating with content and partners, delivering timely and engaging posts while maintaining the brand voice.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Owning, developing and communicating Meta publishing schedule -- ensuring coordination and collaboration with other publishers and content teammates
  • Managing Meta platform publishing during live game windows -- balancing quick and immediate publishing, with commitment to both accuracy and creative and engaging copy that drives storytelling
  • Work with content and marketing counterparts as well as league stakeholders to plan and optimize the content on platforms, including the WNBA Social Content Planning and Programming team, the Digital Strategy and Analytics team, the Video Content Creation team, the Content Design team, and the Partner Integration team
  • Management and delivery of all daily, weekly and monthly META requirements are met for internal and external partners
  • Working with creative team to write proper copy for each published piece of content that reflects the WNBA tone of voice
  • Consistent community management to make sure META platforms are engaging with and sharing content from all players, teams and brand partners
  • Publishing video content by developing copy for titles and descriptions, creating tags, and attaching a video thumbnail for each post
  • Organizing and maintaining the structure of the page by categorizing playlists, updating the header image, and keeping other channel features up to date
  • Working with the Content Creation team to create short and long-form video content for the channel and contribute to ideation on a regular basis, working towards channel growth and success
  • Working with the Content Design team to create video thumbnails, as well as using Adobe Photoshop or automated graphics tools to create templated video thumbnails and provide channel expertise on best practices for design elements

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience publishing across social and/or digital platforms
  • Experience creating basketball content
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Strong knowledge of the META platforms - understanding of the landscape, the way fans consume WNBA content on the platforms, all features and opportunities on META, platform analytics, and Google and SEO knowledge to improve title and description creation
  • Strong knowledge of the YouTube platform - understanding of the competitive landscape, the way fans consume WNBA content on the platform, all features and opportunities on YouTube, platform analytics, and Google and SEO knowledge to improve title and description creation
  • Strong knowledge about the WNBA, and is passionate about the storylines surrounding its players, coaches, teams, statistics, standings, and history of the league, as well as excellent understanding of basketball stats and analytics, the rules of the game and the history of the game
  • Strong understanding of the WNBA’s social voice
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, as this position may include working days, nights, weekends, and holidays based on the WNBA calendar
  • Ability to work on deadline and handle multiple tasks at once with a precise and detail-oriented approach with commitment to accuracy and organization
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment while handling critical tasks in a composed and timely manner
