Job Summary

Own the brand refresh and end-to-end website rebuild for SafeAbroad, driving a cohesive visual identity and seamless user experience from planning through asset delivery.

  • Ownership: end-to-end branding, asset library, and design system alignment across logo, color, typography, and templates.
  • Delivery: migrate SEO, implement 301 redirects, and conduct UI/UX audits with cross-browser/mobile testing to preserve performance and accessibility.
  • Outputs: publish finalized brand assets and templates for leadership review and organization-wide use.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Create a comprehensive, step-by-step project plan that outlines achieving the following end deliverables:
  • Rebranding the SafeAbroad website.
  • Developing SafeAbroad’s new brand identity, marketing, and designs.
  • Publish SafeAbroad assets and templates aligned with the organization’s new branding.
  • Complete the update of SafeAbroad’s brand and visual identity, including but not limited to the company’s logo, color palettes and typography.
  • The contractor will make distinct creative mock-ups for leadership to review and choose from, prior to the contractor developing the final brand identity and guidelines.
  • Complete an end-to-end refresh of SafeAbroad’s website using WordPress, implementing the company’s new brand identity and ensuring a seamless and intuitive UX.
  • Ensure the migration of existing SEO and setup of 301 redirects; maintain website security measures.
  • Conduct a UI/UX audit of the current site to identify friction points before implementing the refresh.
  • Ensure all existing lead-capture forms, “Contact Us” pages, and external links are tested and functional within the new design.

Requirements

  • Proven track record with website creation, design, and previous graphic design experience.
  • Intermediate to advanced experience using WordPress, preferably with the Elementor add-on. Must be able to manage themes, plugins, and custom post types. Ability to troubleshoot styling and formatting issues.
  • Strong understanding of Technical SEO, including URL redirects, metadata management, and image optimization to ensure no loss of search ranking during the site refresh.
  • Experience implementing a “user-first” mentality, ensuring intuitive user experiences.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, previous experience in a remote environment a plus.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). Ability to ensure the updated brand colors and website typography meet standard contrast and readability requirements.
  • Proven ability to self-manage complex projects with multiple moving parts. Must demonstrate a structured approach to project timelines, feedback loops, and asset handoff.
  • Portfolio should demonstrate experience with brand refreshes or migrations, showing the ability to modernize an existing identity while maintaining brand equity.
