  • Must-have: Own filming, editing, and posting 8–12 vertical videos per month.
  • Must-have: 4K vertical video capability with reels/TikTok/shorts editing experience.
  • Standout: Local Connecticut shoreline travel to towns listed in the service area.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • This role involves helping plan, film, and edit video content that showcases the daily work of our team and the lifestyle of dogs on the CT shoreline.
  • You may scout filming locations, help brainstorm content ideas, write simple scripts or talking points, and coordinate filming opportunities with our dog walkers.
  • You'll capture footage of dogs walking, hiking, playing, and exploring local towns and trails. Videos should be edited for social media with captions, hooks, and strong storytelling.
  • You will also help organize footage and contribute ideas toward a monthly content calendar so we can maintain a consistent posting schedule.
  • Expected Work Structure: We are looking to produce about 8-12 videos per month (roughly 2-3 per week). This will involve occasional filming sessions with our team and editing completed videos ready for social media. Filming schedules are flexible depending on weather and availability.
  • Paid Test Project: Final candidates may be invited to complete a paid test project. The assignment will be to create a 30-45 second vertical video based on an idea you believe would perform well on social media. This may involve spending 1-2 hours filming with one of our dog walkers, capturing dogs walking, hiking, and exploring the shoreline, and editing a finished Reel-style video.

Requirements

  • Must live within or near our service area on the Connecticut shoreline and be able to travel to towns such as Old Saybrook, Essex, Madison, Clinton, Mystic, and surrounding areas.
  • Must be comfortable working around dogs of all sizes and breeds.
  • Must be able to film high-quality vertical video in 4K.
  • Must have experience editing short-form social media videos (Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts).
  • Must have reliable transportation to travel between filming locations.
  • Must provide examples of previous video work (portfolio, social media account, or sample videos).
  • Must be reliable and able to consistently produce at least 8 videos per month.

Preferred

  • Bonus: dog walking opportunities may also be available, but are not required.
