Job Description

Responsibilities

  • We are seeking a strategic and driven Product Marketing Manager to own product positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategy for the Sun Day Red apparel and accessories portfolio. This role sits at the center of our storytelling — translating product intent, design philosophy, and brand equity into differentiated positioning that drives awareness, consideration, and purchase intent. You will be the connective tissue between product creation, creative, wholesale, and eCommerce: defining what makes each product matter, then leading the cross-functional execution that brings it to market. Success in this role is measured both by the quality of the positioning you author and by the flawless delivery of the holistic go-to-market plan. Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities: Go-to-Market Strategy & Execution Drive the go-to-market (GTM) launch process end-to-end: briefing cross-functional teams, recommending KPIs, reviewing marketing communication, and ensuring key messaging is consistent across every channel. Ensures operational and commercial goals are aligned ahead of each product launch. Ensures collateral, PR, social and external communication plans line up with the launch calendar. Ensures value proposition, positioning, and messaging ladder to company objectives. Own the master GTM calendar, keeping every team aware of upcoming initiatives and working in alignment to execute. Facilitate recurring cross-functional GTM meetings; hold team members accountable to strategy, deadlines, and quality of work. Define channel-specific launch phasing across wholesale, direct-to-consumer and athlete/influencer seeding. Content, Creative & Product Storytelling Author the documents that direct our creative output — creative briefs, content briefs, messaging documents, photoshoot plans, sell-in and training presentations, and customer-facing collateral — and secure approval from key decision makers. Oversee and manage the product photography process: maintain key documents, hold deadlines, ensure product is where it needs to be, and confirm photography meets brand standards. Partner with creative and design to develop product photography, mood direction, and lifestyle content that ladders to brand strategy. Lead brainstorms with cross-functional teams and outside agencies to generate ideas for bringing product to market, encouraging broad participation and ideation. Manage the day-to-day for external creative, video, production, and paid media processes on assigned initiatives. Product Positioning & Messaging Own category positioning and competitive differentiation across apparel, accessories, and seasonal collections. Develop product briefs, message hierarchies, and value propositions grounded in market research, consumer insight, and brand strategy. Build the narrative around innovation, materials, construction, and design philosophy that earns a premium price point. Serve as the internal expert on competitor messaging and market landscape; identify white space and opportunities to sharpen our position. Ensure the value proposition, positioning, and messaging align to company goals before any asset is briefed. Sales Enablement & Events Act as the marketing liaison to wholesale partners, communicating positioning, differentiation, and selling strategy. Train internal teams and retail partners on the value proposition, positioning, and how the product aligns with company goals. Manage day-to-day execution of promotional events, ensuring brand and product are well represented, on strategy, and that all partnership deliverables are met. Monitor wholesale feedback and sell-through to inform future product and marketing decisions. Performance, Reporting & Analysis Develop comprehensive consumer launch presentations with detailed plans for achieving KPI deliverables, for share-out with the leadership team. Establish KPIs for product performance, track against targets, and report results to leadership. Lead post-mortem sessions to define future improvement areas, including post-campaign analysis and ROI metrics. Communicate project status, updates, and business results to team members, agency partners, and stakeholders in a timely and appropriate manner. Performs other related duties and assignments as required. Knowledge and Skills Requirements: Demonstrated success bringing products to market and driving adoption in a competitive category Strong command of product marketing fundamentals — positioning, segmentation, messaging architecture, and competitive analysis — and how the full marketing mix influences consumer behavior, market performance, and competitive dynamics. Ability to translate brand strategy into actionable positioning and GTM plans, and carry through to execution. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proofreading and editing, content writing, and research; able to clearly present ideas to groups. Comfortable influencing without authority and aligning product, creative, commerce, and sales stakeholders around a shared plan.
