Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop solutions for the complex Creator Recommendation system and other full-stack features for merchants using YouTube and Google Commerce technologies.
  • Leverage the YouTube Infrastructure to build software that has better debuggability, performance, and reliability.
  • Foster engineering best practices in design, development, testing, code reviews, and agile development.
  • Partner with Product Management (PM), UX, and User Experience Research (UXR) to define product requirements, iterate on designs, and polish user-centric solutions.
  • Work with other engineering teams to deliver merchant experiences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development.
  • 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products, and 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
  • 5 years of experience building and deploying recommendation systems models (retrieval, prediction, ranking, embedding) in production and experience building architecture in different modeling domains.
  • 5 years of experience with ML design and ML infrastructure (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, data processing, debugging, fine tuning).

Preferred

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
  • Experience in C++/Java.
  • Experience in business-to-business (B2B) or e-commerce software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with both technical and non-technical team members.
