The San Francisco Nighthawks were founded in 1995 to elevate and promote the Women’s Soccer game and to provide the highest opportunity to Bay Area players. In this quest we chose to provide inclusive equal representation and opportunities for all. Our belief is that every female player, who is qualified to play at this high level, should be afforded the opportunity to play with us regardless of age, physical size, race, preferences, identities, socio-economic background, education, or previous club. The Nighthawks are a founding member of the Women's Premier Soccer League, the second tier of women's soccer in the United States of America and Canada. In the WPSL, the team plays in the Pacific North conference.
