Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a social media strategy that increases awareness, engagement, and retention among CEI’s target communities and demographics.
  • Manage CEI’s social media calendar, ensuring timeliness of delivery and visibility for organizational messages, public relations, community relations, and cultural milestones.
  • Coordinate with CEI’s external media agency to incorporate seasonal posts and special initiatives into the calendar.
  • Support the development of CEI marketing campaigns by contributing creative ideas and strategic recommendations to maximize impact across social channels.
  • Collaborate with internal marketing and communications staff, and with external designers, writers, editors, and other creative partners, to develop innovative social-first content.
  • Create branded, platform-native content that highlights CEI’s mission, value, staff and participant culture, community impact, and the PACE model.
  • Repurpose long-form collateral, including reports, stories, program materials, and interviews, to create compelling short-form videos, graphics, and other assets optimized for each social platform.
  • Monitor trends, cultural moments, and relevant conversations, identifying opportunities for CEI to engage appropriately and authentically.
  • Engage with users and partner accounts with the right tone, timeliness, and creativity to grow CEI’s digital presence and foster connection.
  • Represent the CEI brand by responding to public questions, comments, and messages in a timely, courteous, and helpful manner across all social channels.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, media studies, journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent amount of professional experience.
  • 2-5 years of experience managing a brand’s social media presence.
  • Proven experience growing engagement and retention on social media channels.
  • Experience using social media management tools such as Hootsuite to schedule content and measure performance.
  • Experience creating short-form video and visual content for platforms such as Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
  • Strong understanding of social media trends, algorithms, and best practices.
  • Proficiency with visual editing tools such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, and video editing tools such as Adobe Premiere and CapCut, to produce high-quality social media content.
  • Ability to generate original, platform-specific ideas that engage diverse audiences.
  • Competency in other graphic design software.
  • Strong writing ability, with experience using a consistent brand voice. Highly skilled at writing and editing compelling, persuasive short-format copy.
