Responsibilities

• The Social Media Marketing Intern will support the planning, creation, and scheduling of content across social media platforms to increase awareness of Melhem Scientific’s research activities and opportunities.
• Day-to-day tasks include drafting posts, designing simple visual assets, monitoring engagement, responding to basic inquiries, and coordinating with team members to highlight ongoing projects and events.
• The intern will assist in implementing digital marketing campaigns, tracking performance metrics, and suggesting data-informed improvements to social media strategies.
• This is an internship role based in Washington, DC with a hybrid work arrangement, allowing some tasks to be completed from home while attending on-site meetings and activities as needed.

Requirements

• Social media expertise, including skills in Social Media Marketing and Social Media Content Creation.
• Foundational understanding of Digital Marketing and Marketing principles.
• Strong Communication skills, both written and verbal, suitable for diverse audiences.
• Ability to manage time effectively, stay organized, and meet deadlines in a hybrid work environment.
• Interest in healthcare, science, or research; prior exposure to academic or scientific settings is a plus.
• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a program in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Comfort using common social media management tools and basic graphic or video editing software is beneficial.
