  • Performance & Learning: Run experiments, measure outcomes, and refine tactics based on data and community feedback.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • developing and executing social media and growth strategies to increase awareness, engagement, and user acquisition for San Leandro Daily.
  • Day-to-day tasks include creating and scheduling posts across social platforms.
  • experimenting with new content formats.
  • collaborating with local partners, organizations, and businesses to drive cross-promotion.
  • monitor performance metrics.
  • run A/B tests for campaigns.
  • refine tactics based on data and community feedback.
  • identifying growth opportunities.
  • managing influencer-style outreach.
  • contributing ideas to product and marketing initiatives that support community adoption.

Requirements

  • Strong growth-focused mindset with skills in Growth Hacking and Conversion Optimization to drive user acquisition and engagement.
  • Proficiency in Web Analytics tools to track performance, measure campaigns, and inform data-driven decisions.
  • Experience in Marketing and Marketing Strategy to design and execute campaigns that support brand awareness and community growth.
  • Hands-on experience managing social media channels (e.g., Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X) and creating short-form, community-centric content.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to represent a local brand authentically and professionally.
  • Comfort engaging with local residents, businesses, and organizations; familiarity with San Leandro or the East Bay community is a plus.
  • Ability to work on-site, manage multiple projects, and adapt quickly in a startup-like environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or equivalent practical experience is preferred but not required.

  • Experience with influencer-style outreach.
