Job Summary

Own social content creation and community management for a Chicago nonprofit, with a bridge to marketing strategy and campus-focused campaigns.

  • Social content and editorial: produce posts and web copy, shape campaigns with the marketing lead, and ensure calendar-aligned publishing.
  • Social presence and assets: manage accounts, engage the audience, and update the org site via Wordpress.
  • Events and collaboration: cover events for photography/editorial needs and contribute to planning meetings to align on Scholar perspectives.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Writes and designs social media and web content in collaboration with the Associate Director of Marketing.
  • Manages Chicago Scholars social media accounts: posts according to a content calendar, monitors inboxes, and replies to comments and tagged posts using a script.
  • Handle small updates to chicagoscholars.org using Wordpress CMS.
  • Advise Marketing and Communications staff on Scholar perspective, current social trends; assist with brainstorming and strategizing for new campaigns/editorial calendars.
  • Participates in planning and editorial meetings.
  • Attends events as assigned for photo and editorial coverage.
  • Additional Administrative Duties within the Scope of the Marketing and Communications Team, i.e. Organizing Photo Folders in SmugMug and Canva
