Job Summary

Own the end to end social content cycle for a dance studio, focusing on real in studio capture, fast editing for Instagram and Facebook reels, cross posting to TikTok, and a steady publish cadence that grows community and enrollment.

  • Content Capture: shoot and select studio moments across technique, recreational, competitive, preschool, and community themes.
  • Content Creation & Branded Identity: edit clips with Canva, assemble posts and graphics, and align visuals with current campaigns.
  • Scheduling & Collaboration: manage weekly posting through Hootsuite and partner in planning meetings to optimize campaigns and ad support.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Content Capture (Approximately 4–6 Hours/Week)
  • Attend the studio approximately 2–3 days per week to capture content
  • Film a variety of classes, age groups, and dance styles
  • Take candid photos and videos of students, classes, instructors, and studio activities
  • Capture content that highlights:
  • Technique classes
  • Recreational classes
  • Competitive dancers
  • Preschool and youth programs
  • Studio culture and community
  • Content Editing & Creation (Approximately 5–6 Hours/Week)
  • Edit video clips into:
  • Instagram Reels
  • Facebook Reels
  • TikTok videos (as applicable)
  • Create photo posts, carousels, and graphics
  • Use Canva to edit content, create branded graphics, and maintain a consistent visual identity across all platforms
  • Select and organize photos/videos for future use
  • Write captions and incorporate relevant hashtags and trends
  • Assist in creating content that aligns with current advertising campaigns and marketing objectives
  • Scheduling & Posting (Approximately 1–2 Hours/Week)
  • Schedule content through Hootsuite
  • Maintain a consistent posting schedule
  • Ensure content is approved when necessary before publishing

  • Create and schedule:
  • 4–5 posts per week total
  • At least 2–3 reels/videos per week

  • The purpose of this role is to:
  • Showcase studio culture and community
  • Highlight student growth and accomplishments
  • Promote classes, programs, and events
  • Increase engagement and visibility online
  • Attract new families and dancers to the studio
  • Build a consistent and recognizable social media presence
  • Communication & Collaboration
  • Participate in a monthly marketing and planning meeting with Karen and Kate to review upcoming projects, promotions, events, and content priorities
  • Review advertising performance reports with Meagan (online - fb marketing) and collaborate on content strategies that support paid advertising campaigns
  • Assist in creating and adjusting content to remain aligned with current marketing and advertising initiatives
  • Be proactive in identifying content opportunities within classes and studio activities

Requirements

  • Up to 15 hours per week
  • Ability to attend the studio approximately 2–3 days per week to capture content
  • Experience using Canva
  • Familiarity with Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok for content creation
  • Ability to edit video clips for Instagram Reels, Facebook Reels, and TikTok
  • Knowledge of scheduling content via Hootsuite
  • Hybrid remote/work flexibility

Preferred

  • TikTok (if you know it well and understand how to cross-post effectively)
  • Experience with Canva to edit content, create branded graphics, and maintain a consistent visual identity across all platforms
