Job Summary

Lead global comms for a cultural institution by owning strategy, media relations, and executive-ready messaging across diverse disciplines.

  • Growth/Strategy: Own a long-range, cross-domain communications plan shaping coverage from culture to entertainment and coordinating with internal teams.
  • Media & Partnerships: Guide agencies, cultivate national to local outlets, and secure high-impact interviews and site visits.
  • Internal & Ops: Align with Film Programs, Education, Curatorial, Advancement, and Marketing while managing assets, rights, and talent logistics.

Job Description

Own and execute a global strategic communications plan for the museum across culture, political, philanthropic, architectural, arts, and entertainment press while guiding a high‑visibility media program.

  • Responsibilities: Develop and implement a long-range global communications strategy that shapes institutional messaging and media coverage across multiple domains.
  • Responsibilities: Coordinate with internal departments and the Academy to promote programs and initiatives with consistent public messaging.
  • Responsibilities: Lead third‑party PR agencies, manage media relationships, and secure favorable coverage across national, regional, and local outlets.
  • Responsibilities: Build, maintain, and leverage media contacts; pitch, book, and cover interviews; arrange site visits and photo/video coverage.
  • Responsibilities: Prepare press materials and public remarks; oversee interview prep and media training for spokespeople.
  • Responsibilities: Manage media requests, track coverage, and distribute clips to the team.
  • Responsibilities: Oversee talent travel logistics, clear image rights, and asset organization for copy, images, and video clips.
  • Responsibilities: Update contact databases and handle ticket requests while staying organized in a fast-paced environment.
  • Responsibilities: Work occasional nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled to support coverage.

Requirements: A bachelor’s degree; 5 years in public relations or related field; museum, cultural institution, or entertainment industry experience; strong writing and proofreading; familiarity with major social platforms; excellent time management; demonstrated editorial experience; confidentiality and professionalism; ability to build relationships; experience with diverse audiences; software proficiency (Microsoft Office, Airtable, Salesforce, Dynamics CRM, Studio System, IMDBPro, etc.); ability to work independently and with teams.

  • Responsibilities: Bachelor’s degree required; 5 years PR or related field experience; museum or cultural/in entertainment industry background.
  • Requirements: Excellent written and oral communication; strong attention to detail; ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Requirements: Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Airtable, Salesforce, and CRM systems; capacity to work cross-functionally.
  • Requirements: Ability to handle confidential information and represent the museum with discretion.
  • Requirements: Experience engaging diverse audiences and partners; strong editorial track record.
  • Requirements: Availability for flexible hours, including some nights and weekends as needed.
  • Requirements: Knowledge of media landscape and ability to manage talent logistics and travel.
