Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Direction
  • - Perform work under limited supervision requiring the need to exercise independent judgement and discretion on a regular basis. Use advanced techniques and principles to complete tasks. Mentor junior staff without formal leadership.
  • At the Operational and Company Level
  • - Leads strategic proposal efforts, coaches pursuit teams and develops compelling marketing materials that align with client and firm goals. Collaborates across teams to drive sales strategies, uphold brand standards and strengthen data integrity.
  • Do the Work
  • - Preparation of proposals in response to RFP requests, qualifications and teaming opportunity materials for both public works and private development projects managing the process from content generation through to debriefing. - Prepare presentations, assist with interview strategies and coach operations teams to align with client expectations and pursuit goals. - Produce marketing and communications collateral, including brochures, project profiles, team resumes and visually compelling graphics to support proposals and corporate initiatives. - Leverage a whole-brain approach to marketing—balancing strategic thinking with creative execution—to develop compelling, visually engaging content that resonates with target audiences. - Apply strong graphic design skills/knowledge to elevate visual storytelling and mentor junior staff in design principles, branding consistency and layout best practices. - Research and compile data on clients, communities and/or markets to support strategy development. - Contribute to the development, organization and maintenance of the firm’s graphics and marketing content libraries. - Collaborate with operations teams to develop and implement targeted sales strategies, including cross-selling opportunities, go/no-go analyses, win theme development and pursuit debriefs. - Advise and support junior marketing staff, serving as a training resource and mentor to promote team growth. - Build, maintain and ensure the integrity of employee and project data within the firm’s CRM system. - Enforce the use of brand guidelines, marketing processes and templates to ensure consistency in messaging, voice and visual representation. - Assist with coordinating and participating in industry events and tradeshows to strengthen the firm’s brand visibility and market presence, as needed.

  • - Demonstrates strong organizational, time management and problem-solving skills to manage multiple priorities independently and with limited direction. - Measures and analyzes marketing activities with a focus on improving ROI and supporting data-driven decision-making. - Collaborates confidently and professionally with cross-functional teams and senior colleagues to drive pursuit and marketing success. - Displays creativity, strategic thinking and proactive judgment in developing marketing materials, communications and pursuit strategies. - Maintains a strong sense of urgency in responding to stakeholders while demonstrating a strong work ethic, positive attitude and commitment to continuous learning and growth. - Synthesizes information into visually compelling, grammatically correct marketing communications, with emphasis on document quality control, attention to detail and editing precision. - Exemplifies and promotes the Bowman brand internally and externally, ensuring fluency with brand platform standards and consistent application across visual and written communications.

Requirements

  • Minimum of four (4) years of professional services marketing experience with emphasis and clear understanding of proposal development. (Architectural/ Engineering/Construction (AEC) industry is preferred)
  • Bachelors’ degree in marketing, communications, or related field preferred. Commensurate work experience also considered.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop) and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent writing, editing and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Strong graphic design and layout capabilities.
  • Flexibility to work as needed to meet deadlines.
