Job Description

Own and optimize APUS social media strategy and team, aligning with university goals and cross‑department collaboration to drive student engagement and brand visibility.

  • Strategy & Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive social media plan aligned to brand voice and audience needs, with measurable outcomes.
  • Content Creation & Management: Oversee engaging content across platforms that reflects APUS values and educational offerings.
  • Team Leadership: Guide and mentor the social media team, setting goals and fostering collaboration.
  • Analytics & Reporting: Use analytics to track performance and adjust strategies for reach and engagement.
  • Community Engagement: Moderate discussions, respond to comments, and build a supportive online student and alumni space.
  • Crisis Management: Monitor online reputation and respond swiftly per policy during crises.
  • Collaboration: Partner with Admissions, Student Services, and Alumni Relations for integrated messaging.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in social media management, with at least 2 in a leadership role, preferably in higher education or related sector.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in social platforms, analytics tools, and content management systems.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal skills for diverse audiences.
  • Creativity & Innovation: Ability to craft compelling, standout content.
  • Leadership: Track record of leading a team and developing talent.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret data, identify trends, and adjust strategies.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to respond to changing social media trends and online education environments.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the online education sector and its challenges/opportunities.
  • Project Management: Experience with project management tools and methodologies.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications or related field; Master preferred.
  • Master Degree in relevant field preferred.
