Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute an integrated R&D communications strategy aligned with enterprise priorities and the broader corporate communications framework.
  • Serve as a communications partner to R&D leaders, helping shape messaging that supports innovation, transformation and long‑term growth.
  • Proactively identify storytelling opportunities that elevate R&D impact across internal and external channels.
  • Develop editorial‑quality content across formats and channels (company blog, internal feature stories, speeches, videos, Q&A, announcements, social media, etc.).
  • Partner with Corporate Communications colleagues to align R&D stories with potential media, thought leadership and employer brand opportunities, where appropriate.
  • Ensure consistency of voice, message discipline and brand standards across all R&D communications.
  • Measure and evaluate communications effectiveness, using insights to continuously refine strategy.
  • Work with RDLT and the Chief Technology Officer to plan, craft and deliver high‑impact communications, including town halls, video scripts, talking points, presentations, and thought leadership content.
  • Translate technical and scientific concepts into accessible, compelling stories for a variety of audiences and communication channels.
  • Provide support on messaging, tone, and positioning for sensitive or high‑visibility initiatives.
  • Lead communications strategy and execution for events and award programs, including message development, content planning, channel strategy and audience engagement.
  • Partner cross‑functionally to ensure these programs are well integrated, well promoted, and deliver measurable impact.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required with a focus in Journalism or Communications preferred
  • 5-7 years of experience in communications, journalism or corporate storytelling, with a strong portfolio of written and editorial work.
  • Demonstrated experience translating technical or scientific topics into clear, engaging and concise messaging.
  • Proven ability to support senior executives and leadership teams.
  • Strong strategic thinking combined with hands‑on execution excellence.
  • Exceptional writing, editing and storytelling skills with a journalistic mindset.
  • Experience leading communications for large‑scale events or enterprise programs.
  • Comfort operating in complex, matrixed organizations.

Preferred

  • Experience supporting R&D, technology, innovation or scientific organizations.
  • Executive presence and confidence partnering with senior leaders.
